Moxibustion – Artemesia Vulgaris (Moxa)
The herb is burned directly on an acupuncture point moving heat into the body.

Needles have the ability to bypass the mind and give the body what it craves…peace and stillness and the room to move.

How does Acupuncture work?
Acupuncture works by directly stimulating the nervous system and immune system.  Second only to exercise, acupuncture has the ability to activate the production of endorphins in the body.  Fine sterile needles are inserted in the body, often along channels of energy called Meridians.  The aim in acupuncture treatments is to facilitate the body in moving back to a state of health or balance (homeostasis).

Simply put, acupuncture supports the body in doing what it does best, which is to heal itself.

In addition to the insertion of fine sterile needles, many other methods and techniques may be used to assist the body in returning to a state of health including:

    • Moxibustion
    • Cupping
    • Gua sha
    • Acupressure
